Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce

The Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce (GP Chamber) serves over 650 members in Grosse Pointe, Saint Clair Shores, Harper Woods, and Detroit. Together with the Chamber Ambassadors and Board of Directors, the GP Chamber advocates on behalf of businesses in the community, provides access to business resources, and hosts various networking and signature events.

Scope of Work

Develop and implement an integrated marketing and communications strategy to broaden awareness of the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce and strengthen the Chamber’s identity across key stakeholder audiences in the community.

  • Position the Chamber as the ultimate business and community resource while promoting Chamber programs, initiatives, and events
  • Maintain awareness of local business and community culture
  • Identify PR opportunities and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
  • Oversee all digital content to ensure its alignment with strategic communications plan
  • Curate high-level content (copywriting, photography, and basic videography) to increase audience engagement across the Chamber’s digital communication channels – Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Constant Contact
  • Continuously improve communication performance by capturing and analyzing social data and metrics
  • Implement Chamber marketing and communication best practices garnered from industry forums
  • Attend new business openings, member of the month celebrations, and signature Chamber events – capture live content for social media features
  • Go on-site to Chamber Member businesses to network with business owners and gather lifestyle content for social media features
  • Spearheaded membership development, retention, and monetization strategies

Assisted the Executive Director with developing and implementing various COVID communication strategies and disseminating vital business resources to the community:

  • Launched community wide #GPSTRONG signage initiative designed to lift spirits and unite the community. Successfully encouraged user generated photo submissions and community donations so more signs could be printed and shared with the community.
  • Spearheaded community wide “ribbon cutting reopening” campaign involving over 100 businesses. Utilized TikTok to create various reopening videos that were very well received within the community
  • Generated awareness of small business grant opportunities and promoted access to COVID business resources and webinars
  • Introduced giveaway campaigns (gift cards and Chamber bucks) designed to encourage the community to patronize local businesses as much as possible. Posted dozens of original business features and shared business offerings with the community

  • 200 – 400% month-over-month increase in likes/follows and engaged Facebook users
  • 200 – 400% month-over-month increase in likes/follows and engaged Instagram users
  • Developed and implemented new revenue stream – social media monetization
  • Introduced and managed effective online advertising strategy and budget
  • Effectively supported member growth and retention efforts through targeted social media features and engagement strategies
  • Increased program participation (Learn at Lunch) and event attendance (both virtual and in-person networking events and other signature events)
